Tiger Woods is feeling sorry alright. But clearly, judging by his sorrowful performance at Ponte Vedra – only for himself. When Woods finally decides to return to golf, he will have to face the very same questions he should have answered 3 months ago.

Had he done so, this story may well have become yesterday’s fish and chip paper by now.

In a 14 min 48 secs prepared speech, Woods declared that his wife didn’t hit him. If that is true, why didn’t clear up that matter via his website from the outset? Why did he drive so recklessly and out of control down his driveway at 2.30 am?. Where was he going at that unearthly hour and why?.

This matter is far from over for Woods. Many are fed up by his attempt to spin his way around this matter. For now, whatever it is that Tiger is selling, I am not buying.

PS: Tiger,you should sack your IMG spin manager. You must speak for yourself if you want to be credible.

With the news today, that woman number 7 in the tryst list of Tiger’s ‘transgressions’, is actually one of America’s leading porn stars, the damage to TW’s reputation is inestimable. How much more concerning his ‘other’ life, needs to be revealed before he fronts the media to stop the bleeding? Whether wife Elin has left him or not, is really not the main story for his fans. The story will always be Tiger.

What does his future look like? What impact will this unfolding drama have on his game from now on, and how will people react and relate to him in the future? In the meantime El Tigre’s fans can but wait for that new day, when once again it is Tiger’s golfing genius that makes the headlines. At present — that won’t be anytime soon.

Tiger continues to make admissions and apologies about his so called (transgressions) via his website only. In so doing ,all of his wealth is buying him very poor advice. But more than anything, I suspect that it is his ego, that is feeling more damaged than either his car or the golf club involved in his extrication?. The sooner he faces his worst fear (the inevitable press conference awaiting him) the sooner he can begin to put this unsavoury business behind him.

Whether he appreciates it or not, in the eyes of many he has already lost that special something. All he had to do was to tell the truth from the start and all of this extra pain could have been avoided. His agent’s attempt at spin and by writing responses on his website, will not set him free, only the truth can do that. Right now he needs to personally front the media and get it over with before his tournament commitments begin in 2010. He can’t avoid the media forever.
