The Three faces of Eve
The campaign has revealed few real policy differences between the candidates, however the 20 debates have delivered an invaluable insight into their persona, positions and judgement. Not surprisingly Clinton appears to have failed miserably in the leadership stakes. Consider her flawed judgement and serial negligence in voting for the war in Iraq. Her demeanour under pressure and her aggressive attitude. Such behaviour can appear quite disrespectful, and in no way presents her as being potentially Presidential. In addition, Clinton’s widely ridiculed mood swings have raised serious questions about her stability.
I am reminded of the 1957 Academy award winning movie, the ‘Three faces of Eve’ starring Joanne Woodward. Her performance won her the ‘best actress award’, playing a woman with three distinctly different personalities. In stark contrast with Clinton, people appear to be very impressed with Obama’s persona and the calm reasoned intelligence he displays in dealing with policy positions, while still extending politeness and courtesy to his opponent. ‘The three faces of Clinton’ video [9 mins]
Is this the image of someone, you would be proud to call My President?
In closing, this was my early post on March 5 to David Plouffe, the Obama campaign manager c/- the Obama site. David, well done on raising the Clinton tax issue. To date, Clinton and her surrogates have made most of the plays. May I suggest that from now on you raise legitimate issues which need answers from someone who claims she is fit to be President. This is the role of a candidate. In effect, to ask the questions that we want answered.
The Clintons are engaged in the classic political ploy of forcing the Obama campaign to waste time and resources in reacting, while their candidate or surrogate gains free media time in attacking, insinuating or denying involvement in rumour mongering. Insinuation or inference always leaves a residue of lingering doubt. People thrive on controversy and have no way of checking the veracity of a claim. The best defence is to always attack. However sometimes a winning strategy can appear to be defensive as the analogy about Mohammed Ali shows later in this piece.
Let the opponent invent the false accusations, but don’t give them the time of day. The media will soon tire of chasing down blind alleys. All we expect is honesty. Leaders have to be tough. They lead – not react. They control the game. Let the Clintons spend the rest of this contest playing defence. The Clintons are in this for themselves and personal ambition. Barack is in this for all Americans. More Clinton experience [video 12 mins]
Is this a person you would trust to protect and defend the interests of the United States of America and the welfare of its citizens?
David, forget about McCain for the moment, the opponent is Clinton. Start comparing and challenging her claims to clearly demonstrate why she is unsuitable for such high office. We know who Barack Obama is, now show the American people the real Hillary. This message must also be supported in your advertising. Remember people vote via persuasion and perception. The Clintons market to perception.
Many people still remember the famous ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ world championship boxing bout in Zaire between the titleholder George Foreman and Mohammed Ali. Ali’s plan was to make George do all the work. From the start he let Foreman pin him on the ropes and punch relentlessly and wastefully into Ali’s upraised arms. By the end of round seven Foreman was tired and had suffered facial damage from Ali’s short jabs delivered in close. It was a brilliantly executed plan. At the beginning of the eighth round Ali danced out of his corner and attacked Foreman, knocking him out with two lightning punches.
Always control the agenda. Go Obama Yes we can.
A postscript to you the reader,
Throughout the day on March 5, I noticed other that other Democrat leaders and Obama supporters were calling out for similar action from Barack and the Obama team. I think they know the score. If not, call Nelson M. The number is 46664. There’s no other number quite like it.

Great and telling article and video! This info should be a major focus in the mainstream media.
I suppose it shouldn’t be a huge shock to us how against unions Hillary Clinton has always been.
She is simply an opportunist who goes along with whomever will promote her. Witness how she is trying now to get in good with the military, all of a sudden holding a big press conference.
I consider Hillary to be the anti-feminist of our time. If she were to become our President, she would set the woman’s movement back at least 100 years.
Thank you for the great article John, and all you do for our Obama family and campaign.
This is a perfect example of Hillary saying and doing anything to win. NAFTA.
