Philadelphia’s D Day

 Is this the profile of America’s 44th President

How could anyone who cares about their country have this complete fruitcake of a person HRC in charge of anything.  And it gets worse. She has just said on MSNBC she would use nuclear weapons against Iran if they acquired a nuclear capability and used atomic weapons against Israel.  Her temperament is that of a schoolyard bully one minute and then the class cry baby when it suits her machievellian means. It appears she can’t lie straight even in bed.  I don’t know why because her husband was often elsewhere, if his record is to be believed.

I derive no satisfaction in having to mention such things, but the truth must out, in fairness to those voters who are not followers of political matters.  In particular the shocking Clinton scandals, financial, sexual and otherwise which have plagued both Hillary Clinton and her husband Bill since their days in Arkansas all the way through to the White House. Including Bill Clinton’s denial of sexual intercourse with Monica Lewinsky and his narrow escape from Presidential impeachment.

By comparison Barack Obama has a clean and impressive record of public service which includes an acclaimed reputation for helping people and exercising sound judgement.

Super Delegates - what is left to decide?

Hillary Clinton cannot credibly demonstrate to the people of Pennsylvania that she is worthy of their vote or the Democratic Party nominaton.  Many voters are beginning to understand that she simply offers  more of the same often corrupt Washington ways.  Something now evident as a result of the long campaign. Unless she wins Pennsylvania by more than 10-15% she should be told to concede.

On the other hand Barack Obama, his magnificent professional team and milllions of supporters offer the Democrats a bright 8 years in the White House and an opportunity to lay a sound platform for America’s future. Obama needs to be able to get on with the job of defeating John McCain and winning the general election. That is what these primaries and caucuses should facilitate. To date it hasn’t been the case.

Clinton cannot match Obama in States won, delegates won, the popular vote and they are nearly equal in super delegates. What else does he have to do? Since Super Tuesday Obama has picked up more than 50 extra Super Delegates and Clinton around 11. The tide has turned his way and it is gaining momentum. All national polls of Democrats favour Obama over Clinton by more than 20% and other polls see him beating Mc Cain as well.

The Party’s over - HRC

Tomorrow is D Day in more ways than one for Hillary Clinton. If she wins her margin will only be around 5% at the most. A long way short of the 25% lead she held only a few weeks ago. If Barack Obama wins it will be close. Either way Clinton should then concede gracefully. That’s what most people with any self respect and care for their party would do. But don’t hold your breath.  America will indeed be fortunate if it can avoid having the Clintons darken the portals of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave again.  Many Democrats would vote for McCain rather than see that.  Let’s hope the country has a change of luck this time around. The luck to have a President Obama.
