Minutes after sending that first email reply I sent a further email [not included] to Antonia outlining what I had in mind and asked for her thoughts. Antonia agreed with the idea and approved the use of her name in support of Barack Obama’s candidacy for President of the United States of America.

I read your email reply to my question.  It seems that you and I agree on church officials keeping their political views private or at least when a major figure like Obama is involved. I was a little frustrated that perhaps these comments would hurt his campaign. I get tired of constantly having to come to Obama’s defense when many ill informed Americans question his faith.

It has not changed my opinion of Obama, but many people are not like me either! Now I have another reason to defend him as best I can…It is sad, I feel the media has Barack walking on egg shells more so than McCain or Clinton. You could probably go back in time and find evidence of their priests making statements just as radical as Rev. Wrights. 

I always believed politics should be conducted in a secular manner because of incidents like this. Well, I am just curious to what others think about this issue, now that it has been brought out for the world to see. I hope it does not spoil his odds in winning Pennsylvania. Of course it is fine to use my name in your intro. Many thanks for your letter, I am looking foward to reading your next post!

Congratulations on the fine work you and other Obama supporters are doing for your country. Good works in themselves are empowering and make life so much richer for those engaged in them – and for all who are touched by them.  Antonia thank you very much for lending your name as authentication of your support for this effort.
