A Message for Obama Supporters

Telling Thoughts

This inauguration snapshot of the Obamas ( URL link below & click to photo 8 of 41) examples the level of trust and confidence Americans need to show in their President.

Imagine the impact on morale if Obama supporters start producing and using Thumbs Yup for Obama signs, images, video clips, car stickers etc. to support the President as he battles on their behalf, dealing with the toughest of issues, in the toughest job in the world.

It is not enough to simply know that you support him. As isolated as this President must sensibly be (and as much as that frustrates him) it is better to show that you continue to support him. Why not give Barack your own Thumbs Yup ? And what better time to let your President know that you are there for him — as he is, for all Americans.

A caption for the photo could be .. Thumbs Yup for Obama … A President for All Americans.

As an Australian citizen I can only make a timely suggestion. Let’s hope someone in the US can get the ball rolling with this theme or a better idea to encourage and empower your President.

PS: In suggesting Yup in place of UP implies Yes with a relaxed emphasis. I’ve obviously watched too many Gary Cooper Westerns.

  2. Hello Mr President. You have made great advances and sacrifices. BE it we are indeed on a Christmas truce for the public option, as well as the war, torture, listening to our telephone conversations, we are working hard to inform the electorate about the entire larger picture and that you are indeed on our side, and the concept of the FDR ‘make me’ and the Jimmy Stewart MR Smith Goes To Washington and fights the machine. We can do it!

  4. Thumbs Up!!! We are so proud of your efforts. You have without a doubt the most difficult job in America. Just so you know, this patriotic American and my family will stand by yourself and not expect you to be perfect, but to do the best that you can do. That is the only that we can expect from anyone. You are not alone. You have support out here.

  5. Dear President Obama, of course thumbs up to you.
But please do away with the doughnut hole as quickly as it was instituted. $500 a year doesn’t even pay for one shot of the procrit I need each week.
Happy New Year to a really great President.

  6. President Obama is the occupant of the Oval Office for whom many of us have waited decades. We need to keep his back against all the nay-sayers and their ilk and be prepared to defend the many positive things he has done. If/when we disagree with him, we should remember that he may have insight and information about an issue that we lack. Above all, we must begin working now to elect responsible members of Congress in 2010 — representatives and senators who will support the President rather than try to destroy him and what he stands for. Let’s show America that we elected the “best and brightest” to be president — and we intend to keep him!
