In A League of His Own

In correctly assessing the public mood and the issue upon which to construct his campaign for “Change” in Washington, Barack Obama displayed an uncanny sense of being at one with the people. Such a connectivity is the liveblood of every successful politican. Contrary to the McCain campaign, the Obama juggernaut has been brilliantly managed in every respect.

A Touch of Class

From the starting gun, the gentleman from Delaware, unflinchingly absorbed Sarah Palin’s verbal swipes, her untruths, her brashness, her habit of winking at the audience, her having a dig at Gwen Ifill, and her reading lines throughout the entire ninety minutes. To his credit Senator Biden was measured, appeared at ease, showed polite forbearance, good humour and an appreciation that all his opponent really had, was mostly repetitious hot air, a lot of cheek, and memorised lines.

Wall Street Robbers & Washington Friends

Unlike Bill Clinton’s legacy, President Franklin Delanor Rooseveldt, affectionately known as FDR, is especially remembered for his remarks following the signing into law of the financial regulations contained in the Glass Steagall Act of 1933. Also known as the Banking Act of 1933 (48 Stat. 162). Rooseveldt saw the Depression as a matter of confidence, people had stopped spending, investing and employing labor because they were afraid. As he stated in his inaugural address “the only thing we have to fear is fear itself.”

Lipstick On His Collar!

In just fifty three days, on November 4th 2008, America risks witnessing the prospect of seeing an unqualified, academically challenged, age challenged, knowledge challenged, work ethic challenged, temperament challenged, ego inflated, disingenuous, warmongering and always reckless John McCain, elected as the Republican President of the United States of America.

Clinton Must Concede! Now

Two Clinton supporter group’s convention plans are now well and truly out there and alive and well. To remain involved in the Obama campaign and be credible, Hillary Clinton must now do a number of things quickly or risk destroying any chance Senator Obama has of regaining the White House for the Democratic Party in 2009. Is this her 2008 goal?

Awaken The Sleeping Giant

The current catchcry from the Democrats and the disillusioned is “We need to take back our country”.Very noble, I’m sure. Sounds like something straight from the movie “Braveheart,” invoking images of raging Scots charging across the battlefield towards the English army and oblivion at Culloden in 1746, in a desperate final and failed fling, to rid themselves of an English King. Americans historically can identify with that goal.

Why The World needs Obama / Not McCain

American leaders need to appreciate that any attempt to impose their brand of democracy on others, unless invited is bound to fail. Democracy means different things to different people and is often in conflict with centuries old cultural and religious divides in many parts of the world. One size does not need to fit all, to achieve a more tolerant and peaceful world. Change always takes time, engagement, example, trust and understanding

When Less Is More / Simply Brazile – ient!

With those powerful words Donna Brazile stood tall. She sent a signal to every DNC member charged with the responsibility of making a fair decision on Florida and Michigan that if America was to have regard for the basic principles endowed by the country’s founding fathers, respect for and adherence to rules and laws was essential.

Clinton’s Impossible Dream

Clinton’s association with his Presidency would be a disaster for him. It would taint the image of the new administration from the outset. He would not be able to trust her and he would always need to be on his guard. The American people owe the Clintons nothing and it is time the Clinton brand of politics was dispensed with in exchange for honest, open and responsible government. That would be real change.

Clinton Michelle & McCain

I was delighted to read that.. My first reaction was,”nor the extent of mine either.”Of one thing I am certain, Michelle Obama wouldn’t want Clinton acting as “the trojan horse” while her disgusting husband ran interference in Barack’s White House. Michelle knows they would. She also realises what that would do to his Presidency. And she is right.
