A few weeks ago I invited a dedicated Obama campaign volunteer from North Carolina (a lady who prefers to remain anonymous) to consider recording her feelings and memories following her much anticipated sojourn to Washington DC for the inauguration of her country’s 44th President.

Mr Obama’s Date With Destiny

The understandable euphoria which surrounded Barack Obama’s election as the first man of colour to reach the White House as President, tended to disguise the fact that the 2008 Presidential election was won by the brightest, the most qualified and the most appealing candidate. Voters, many for the first time, were interested enough to examine and study the Obama candidacy and what it potentially offered.
