Obama’s Battlelines Are Drawn

Bi-partisanship? Already rejected by the GOP. For now, it’s best to forget it. Numbers to pass the President’s legislative bills are what matters most. Without the necessary numbers in Congress, the President’s plans are at risk. Republicans are not the only ones who want this President to fail. His broad radical budget agenda has guaranteed that. Threatened vested interests are about to launch their attacks. In his radio broadcast on Saturday, President Obama picked up the gauntlet.

America’s Call To Arms / The Arms Of Government

In President Obama’s inaugural address he appealed to America to “pick itself up and dust itself off”. Republicans in the meantime appear determined to demonstrate that nothing has changed. Basking in what appears to be a self deluded state occasioned by voting 100% against the Democrats’ stimulus proposals in the house and close to that in the Senate, they believe they have Mr Obama’s measure. Regardless of the state of the economy, foreclosures, education, health care and the situation in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Republican’s clear objective is to make life as difficult as possible for the President.

Some Silly Sentences / Seven Days Out

It is mind boggling to think back and recall how it all began with Iowa and how long this journey has been. I have tried to imagine how Barack feels, including all of you who have organised, volunteered, donated, and dedicated yourselves to the cause. Everyone who has been involved in this campaign should feel very proud. It has been an amazing effort and an historic contest. Now in only seven days, the fruits of your labour will be known. This final drive could make all the difference

A Dear John Letter

But as bad judgement would have it, in looking for a running mate you got “impalined” by lipstick. The Alaskan red on a pitbull look. A little too aggressive for Estee Lauder to sell I believe. John since you’ve been palinised, you now seem paralysed. Why in the name of Arizona John, would you choose a running mate like Sarah Palin, aka, Barracuda?

Taking Control of the Agenda

Although McCain has been in the Senate since 1987 people don’t really know the real McCain. He has promoted an image. That image is tarnished, but it needs to be completely stripped. Personally I would begin by painting McCain as the crazy Dr Strangelove character he threatens to be. Remember the movie and the role played by Peter Sellers? This is no movie.

The Vision Splendid

The Invesco Field stadium, home of the Denver Broncos, a sporting arena more attuned to the frenzied roars of the home team fans, felt a new rhythm today, as long held and deep emotions bought tears of joy and hope and much excitement to many hearts, young and old, all motivated by different life experiences, but one shared dream.

The Message from Day One

I am sure Bill Clinton will revel in the limelight on Wednesday. He could do the campaign a big favour if he rips into John McCain with no holds barred. Maybe Barack has this role planned for him. Barack wants to win, he doesn’t mind sharing credit. On Thursday Barack Obama will have to deal with specifics and show people what he will do for them and the country. He must layout in strong words what America will look like under McCain, domestically and internationally.

A Vice President Clinton?

With the Clinton campaign in tatters following the results in North Carolina and Indiana, it now appears the next machievellian element of the Clinton strategy has been activated. It’s Clinton’s plan B. If they can’t change the rules to steal the nomination, plan B is to get within a heartbeat of the Oval Office. The Vice Presidency.
