Taking Control of the Agenda

Although McCain has been in the Senate since 1987 people don’t really know the real McCain. He has promoted an image. That image is tarnished, but it needs to be completely stripped. Personally I would begin by painting McCain as the crazy Dr Strangelove character he threatens to be. Remember the movie and the role played by Peter Sellers? This is no movie.

America’s Favourite Community Organiser

John McCain you are a clear and present danger to the United States. The Republican convention was conducted in an atmosphere more reminiscent of Germany’s Nuremburg SS & SA rallies of the 1930’s under Adolf Hitler. It was an ominous spectacle. We must not forget the gawking, mocking performance of Mr “Rude”Guiliani and the new sop aimed at the women of America, Ms Predator Palin.

Palin the PREDATOR!

What sort of a message does this photo send to parents and children? What does it say about Palin the politician as a person? This is not the 1930’s, when people killed animals for sport and trophies. This woman needs re -education. The idea that Sarah Palin possesses the qualities, skills and judgement to be Vice President and possibly President of the United States of America insults the intelligence of the American people and is ludicrous in the extreme.

The Vision Splendid

The Invesco Field stadium, home of the Denver Broncos, a sporting arena more attuned to the frenzied roars of the home team fans, felt a new rhythm today, as long held and deep emotions bought tears of joy and hope and much excitement to many hearts, young and old, all motivated by different life experiences, but one shared dream.

The Man from Montana / Ropes McCain!

The thing that was outstanding about this Governor’s address, the thing that was so appealing, was its spontaneity, his enthusiasm and his robust animation. He lit up the crowd. They were electrified and swept away. The convention had caught fire at last. Bill Clinton had a grin 5 feet wide and was blown away, so was Joe Biden and and every other VIP.

The Message from Day One

I am sure Bill Clinton will revel in the limelight on Wednesday. He could do the campaign a big favour if he rips into John McCain with no holds barred. Maybe Barack has this role planned for him. Barack wants to win, he doesn’t mind sharing credit. On Thursday Barack Obama will have to deal with specifics and show people what he will do for them and the country. He must layout in strong words what America will look like under McCain, domestically and internationally.

VP Checked / Now for Checkmate!

If the American people ever wanted or needed further proof or confirmation of the judgement skills of Senator Barack Obama, it arrived impressively, on the twenty third day of August 2008, in Springfield Illinois. Perhaps within metres of where Abraham Lincoln stood. One thing we did learn during the campaign, is that whenever Obama is involved, substance is always supported with just the right balance of imagery. American voters have much to look forward to as his policy decisions unfold and bear fruit with the same sense of surety as his campaign.

Time to Think Big Again / C’mon USA

Where has the “US leads the way” spirit of the 1960’s America gone? The “we can do anything attitude” that made America the envy of the world? The smiling faces, the confident walk, the pride in one’s country. An America which demanded, sought and sweated for a better life and achieved it with one income per family in record time, after the horrors and sacrifices of World War two.

John McCain Vs “The One” / Thanks for the Memories!

It begs the question of American voters. Is is more important to be a loyal Republican, Democrat, or whatever else? Or is it a citizen’s duty to be a loyal American first, and vote for the person they actually believe is best qualified to deal with their country’s problems. In these troubled times, surely it is America’s good fortune in Obama, to have a candidate contesting this election, who given the opportunity and time, may prove to be – “The One”.

A Clueless McCain / America’s Future At Risk

Meanwhile on the other side of the ledger it was just the opposite. Democrats were becoming very excited indeed. Barack Obama the “Yes we can man” was breaking all sorts of new fundraising records and gathering crowds never seen before in American politics. The former Republican Senator, Bob Dole interviewed on MSNBC snidely called them,”A cult led by some sort of a Pied Piper”.”It won’t go anywhere” he predicted.
