From the starting gun, the gentleman from Delaware, unflinchingly absorbed Sarah Palin’s verbal swipes, her untruths, her brashness, her habit of winking at the audience, her having a dig at Gwen Ifill, and her reading lines throughout the entire ninety minutes. To his credit Senator Biden was measured, appeared at ease, showed polite forbearance, good humour and an appreciation that all his opponent really had, was mostly repetitious hot air, a lot of cheek, and memorised lines.
Just the kind of safe hands America needs over the next eight years to right the ship of state after eight years of the worst Presidency in living memory. The kind of safe hands and clear thinking Obama will employ to chart a new course to restore confidence in the economy via workable policy injections requiring targeted and limited regulation within segments of America’s financial markets. Measures specifically designed to kickstart and rebuild a vibrant and improved economic model from the entrails of a wrecked and crooked financial system.
In just fifty three days, on November 4th 2008, America risks witnessing the prospect of seeing an unqualified, academically challenged, age challenged, knowledge challenged, work ethic challenged, temperament challenged, ego inflated, disingenuous, warmongering and always reckless John McCain, elected as the Republican President of the United States of America.
I suspect that one day history will record this campaign as the Clintons’ political Waterloo. A campaign and a strategy clearly driven by their lust for power; and not in any way as a result of a genuine desire to serve and care for people. The voting public are beginning to understand this. Especially when they see with their own eyes, that the Clintons’ are prepared to do and say anything to win the nomination. As we speak, the Clinton policy of take no prisoners and win at any cost has reached its virtual point of no return. (NB.This prophetic story is repeated from February in view of unfolding events) Its title “Clintonism: Politics without Principle”.
Little needs to said about the degree of ignorance and the lack of common courtesy which exists in media today. The video of this American TV program interview demonstrates the level to which media in the United States has sunk. If your children behaved in this manner you would be rightly concerned. What sort of mentality employs these rude ignoramuses – or is the plural ignorami? Perhaps I need to do some further research also.
The scene of the recently elected Australian Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd on his first official visit in that role to the United States anointing George W Bush as an honorary citizen of Queensland, the home state of the PM as well as yours truly, was bad enough, but the TV images of Rudd meeting publicly and restating his friendship with Hillary Clinton did, as Clint Eastwood would have put it; “Not make my day”.
Shocked and now desperate beyond belief at the rise and relentless rise of Obama, the pressures on the Clinton campaign are now immense.
There is no pleasant or easy way of commenting on the behaviour and paucity of ethics being displayed by one of the two remaining party’s seeking the Democratic Party’s nomination to contest the November general election for the office of the [...]
It is a tragic indictment on the state of the Republican Party that after inflicting eight years of George W Bush on the American people, the only candidate the Party can offer, is a 71 year old relic of politics past!
What type of people are running the Republican Party in America these days? You know the organisation I am referring to; it’s commonly known as the GOP. [...]
