Ohio’s Marcy Roars at $ Avarice $

Unnecessary speed sank the Titanic. The words from the findings of the 1912 enquiry into the tragedy need to resonate powerfully with America’s politicans. Speed is the enemy of good judgement. Unjustifiable speed in approving President Bush’s rushed and flawed republican bail out proposal as a salve to Wall Street in the current crisis, will most assuredly wreck and dash the hopes of the American people, long into the future. The collapse of the country’s financial system is nothing short of a national emergency.

John McCain Vs “The One” / Thanks for the Memories!

It begs the question of American voters. Is is more important to be a loyal Republican, Democrat, or whatever else? Or is it a citizen’s duty to be a loyal American first, and vote for the person they actually believe is best qualified to deal with their country’s problems. In these troubled times, surely it is America’s good fortune in Obama, to have a candidate contesting this election, who given the opportunity and time, may prove to be – “The One”.

Leadership & The Measure

Now that Democrat Senator Barack Obama has returned to the United States from his week long sojourn through the theatres of war in Iraq and Afghanistan, including meetings with the leaders of Iraq, Afghanistan, Germany, France and Great Britain and addressing a 200,000 strong public rally in Berlin, it is time to take a closer look at the qualifications of his opponent, the Republican Senator for Arizona, John McCain and another former Republican for fair measure.

When Less Is More / Simply Brazile – ient!

With those powerful words Donna Brazile stood tall. She sent a signal to every DNC member charged with the responsibility of making a fair decision on Florida and Michigan that if America was to have regard for the basic principles endowed by the country’s founding fathers, respect for and adherence to rules and laws was essential.

The People have Spoken

Hillary and Bill Clinton need to appreciate that their game of bully boy and bluff is up. It was a good try, but the time to choose the Party nominee has run out. As has any excuses for the Superdelegates to further delay announcing their judgement. Hillary Clinton’s nomination goose is cooked – whether she accepts it or not, is her problem – Senator Obama has much bigger fish to fry and in everybody’s interests he needs to be allowed to get on with the job.

Kevin – What were you thinking?

The scene of the recently elected Australian Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd on his first official visit in that role to the United States anointing George W Bush as an honorary citizen of Queensland, the home state of the PM as well as yours truly, was bad enough, but the TV images of Rudd meeting publicly and restating his friendship with Hillary Clinton did, as Clint Eastwood would have put it; “Not make my day”.

Geraldine Ferraro – Clinton’s attack dog

A senior member of Hillary Clinton’s campaign finance committee Geraldine Ferraro, has claimed that the only reason Barack Obama is leading in the Democratic nomination contest, is because he is black. How charming! – coming from a Democrat and former Vice Presidential candidate. Where do they find these sort of people?  How come they finish up supporting Clinton.  Is it a case of  birds […]

The Carpetbagger Candidate!

The surest way for the Democrats to lose the general election is to nominate Hillary Clinton. She is the candidate who divides the Democrats and unites and empowers the Republicans. She would singlehandedly be responsible for the shift of many Independent voters to the Republican fold, together with a massive swathe of Obama Democrats and disillusioned Republicans. It would take the Democratic Party decades to recover.
