Obama NO – to Clinton

Barack Obama Rejects Clinton’s Call for New Debate (Update1)
By Kim Chipman

April 27 (Bloomberg) — Barack Obama rejected Hillary Clinton’s challenge to debate ahead of Democratic presidential primaries in Indiana and North Carolina May 6, saying he wants to speak directly to voters.

“We’re not going to have debates between now and Indiana,” Illinois Senator Obama said in an interview that aired today on Fox News Sunday. “I’m not ducking. We’ve had 21. What we’ve said is with two weeks, two big states, we want to make sure that we’re talking to as many folks as possible on the ground, taking questions from voters.”

Obama, who has had four debates exclusively with Clinton, said he needs to focus on winning over the white, blue-collar workers who have favored Clinton and helped her win last week’s Pennsylvania primary. Clinton, who lags behind Obama in the delegate count, is fighting to build on that momentum going into the Indiana and North Carolina primaries.  Link to full article.
