Was there every a final outcome to this? SNOPES carried the story with “Undetermined” through the election and for about two weeks afterward. Now it has disappeared from their web site (curious in of itself). I sent an eMail to them and received a form reply not to expect a reply. If the story was true, I think McCain should still be pilloried. If False, then the author ought to come forward and admit it and apologize. What was the final outcome? Did any of the reported “big media” (Washington Post, NY Times, among others) who were supposedly pursuing the story track it to ground?

I think probably Ana saw what happened to joe the plumber and figured she did not want that to be her. they dig up your taxes, personal associations, and everything. With Obama comfortably leading in the race, why mess with it. You have done the right thing John by pursuing this, but doing so with caution. thanks.

I received this email today and I also have issue with forwarding it particularly to people I know will send it on. It probably is true but rather frustating that the author “ana” won’t come forward. Though it looks as though Obama will win.. any account of Mccain that is so very terrifying in regards to his integrity and character is obviously an important factor in electing the leader of our country. I am frustated that if true the author and other’s who were there don’t come out and claim it.
