Clinton Campaign Chaos

A Telling Thoughts Opinion

My comments on one segment of an article in The New Republic titled – “What Went Wrong?” by Michelle Cottle.  May 16th 2008/

Quote: The New Republic article – Introduction
The exclusive story of Hillary’s fall, as told by the high-level advisors, staffers, fundraisers, and on-the-ground organizers who lived it. So it is that we asked (begged, really) a range of Hillarylanders for their up-close and personal lists of “What Went Wrong?” Not everyone wanted to play. Many stubbornly pointed out that their candidate is not yet dead. But, on the condition of total anonymity, a fairly broad cross-section of her staff responded–more than a dozen members all told, from high-level advisors to grunt-level assistants, from money men to on-the-ground organizers. End quote.

A quote from the article:
“I don’t think anybody in America doesn’t think she can do the job. What they’re dying for is to know a little bit more about her. And we were unable to present that side of her.”

Telling Thoughts rejects this explanation.  These are my responses to three separate claims made in the statement.

Clinton campaign claim number 1…
“I don’t think anybody in America doesn’t think she can do the job”.

TT response …
If that was the case she would have wrapped up the nomination by Super Tuesday at the latest. Especially when her opponent was a relative newcomer to the national and international scene, a black person and a candidate who had to manage his campaign without the support of the Democratic Party heirarchy, or corporation funding.

Her campaign is more than $20 million in the red and her opponent is more than $40 million in the black. Her campaign has lost key staff and morale is on the floor. She looks and sounds dangerously irresponsible saying  “She would obliterate Iran with nuclear weapons  if a nuclear equipped Iran attacked Israel” and she claims to be ready on day one. The next thing you see is a red phone ad. If her campaign is an example of her management skills then America would be in even deeper trouble and corruption would again return to the White House.  Hardly the profile of a responsible leader.

Clinton campaign claim number 2…
What they’re dying for is to know a little bit more about her.

TT response …
Hillary Clinton :  First Lady of the United States for eight years – First Lady of the state of Arkansas, author of a number of books about herself – someone who claims to have dealt with the leaders of 80 countries – a second term Senator for the state New York and the wife of a former President of the United States. A person who claims to have been “vetted completely by the media during the past 16 years”. Thoughout the campaign she has repeatedly claimed, “there is nothing the American people do not know about me”.

Clinton campaign claim number 3 …
“And we were unable to present that side of her.”

TT response …
Campaign staffers are unable to present the truth about Clinton. If they did they wouldn’t have a job.  Her books contain lies and descriptions of ficticious events, which until the Bosnia sniper fire tape was revealed, went unchallenged due to the political power of Bill Clinton. Undaunted she continues to lie during the campaign and her claims regarding experience have been exposed as nothing more than a figment of her imagination. As the saying goes, she has run out of bitumen.

Apparently many of her key people have difficulty with the truth and still refuse to take responsibility for anything. It gives credence to the analogy – Birds of a feather! QED.
